About Charlie Brentnall

I’ve been writing stories for as long as I can remember, but I’ve been writing with intent for about nine years (on and off). That all started when I was at the University of Derby studying Theatre Arts (a glorified Drama A-Level). I then studied a Masters’ Degree in Scriptwriting. I ended up writing my first full length script in the form of a 60-minute TV Pilot.

I was told that it was possibly the best debut TV Pilot they’d read from a student. That lit something underneath me. The mistake I made was that I didn’t write anything else… for years. My goal at that time was to gain representation, and that one Pilot wasn’t enough to seal any deal. It deflated me.

Eventually, I found myself working with SuperfreakMedia creating short horror films. During this time I found my real spark for writing again. On a random summer evening in 2024, I joined TikTok as another creative outlet, and I wanted to write my own work again. I’ve since started a few new scripts, my first book, and continued to add to the endless list of new ideas.

There’s a lot of things I’m working on right now, both in my own writing, and in what I’m doing to help you as a writer. So stick with me while I build this, because it’s feeling like the start of something great.
